An estimated 200 people attended a public meeting on a proposed pipeline at the Richmond Hill city center Tuesday to hear information and voice their opinions. Vice President of Public Affairs Allen Fore from Kinder Morgan, the company proposing the pipeline, gave a 10-minute speech about its proposal and the reasoning behind placing a pipeline along the coast of Georgia, including Bryan, Liberty and Long counties.
Several members of the public, some residents and some from local community organizations, voiced their disapproval of the pipeline for a variety of reasons, including environmental, safety, lack of necessity and lack of transparency by Kinder Morgan.
The meeting was hosted by the Georgia Department of Transportation to hear people's views on Kinder Morgan’s application for a certificate of public convenience and necessity. Turn to the Coastal Courier and Bryan County News for future updates on this story.
