Murphy takes Post 1 council seat

The Richmond Hill City Council will have a new member, as voters tapped Johnny Murphy to serve the Post 1 seat currently held by Van Hunter.

Murphy received 353 votes, while Hunter received 272, according to unofficial totals from City Clerk Ursela Lee. 

Incumbents Mayor Harold Folwer and Councilman Russ Carpenter, who were both unopposed, were each voted to serve their second consecutive terms.
