Memorial breaks ground on new office in Richmond Hill

Lunchtime traffic on Highway 17 whizzed by Wednesday as a handful of people attended a brief ceremony to mark Memorial University Medical Center’s groundbreaking for a new doctors’ office in Richmond Hill.
After a few short speeches and a quick flip of ceremonial shovels, Bill Lee, Memorial senior vice president and chief strategy officer, said the new facility is all about providing more local access to Memorial’s services.
“This growth here in Richmond Hill is part of our strategy at Memorial to grow primary care and to ensure access to care for all the people of Bryan County, so they can get great quality care close to home without having to travel into Savannah and Chatham County,” Lee said. “It creates a satellite, for lack of a better word, of Memorial here in Richmond Hill.”
