A Pembroke man died this morning after collapsing in the parking lot of an Ellabell bar, according to the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office.

The deceased was identified as Dusty Thomas Gann of Pembroke. Deputies said Bryan County Emergency Services arrived on the scene and performed CPR on Gann, then transported him to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah where he was pronounced dead.

The report indicates deputies were called to the Blu Diamond Lounge, 6908 Highway 280, shortly after 1 a.m. Witnesses told deputies the man “had been acting weird” earlier in the evening inside the bar. The report said when the man left the bar he collapsed in the parking lot next to his vehicle.

The incident remains under investigation and no further information was available from the sheriff’s office.
