With a score of 2360, Richmond Hill High School student Caleb Ingram has more to celebrate than success on the Scholastic Aptitude Test.
Ingram also was recently named the RHHS STAR Student and the STAR Student for the Bryan County school system. Ingram also has been offered a full ride to the University of Georgia.
Just 40 points shy of a perfect score, Ingram, son of Wallace and Fredda Ingram, nabbed the STAR Student honor by scoring the highest on the SAT. The honor goes to high school seniors who score the highest on the test in a single sitting. He said he was very honored to represent RHHS and the school system.
"This shows the ability of teachers and students to work together to show the value of education and providing students with the ability to succeed inside and outside of the classroom," Ingram said.
One of Ingram's roles as a STAR Student is to select a STAR Teacher. Ingram selected Gail Bond, eighth-grade English and language arts teacher at Richmond Hill Middle School, because of her influences on his education both inside and outside the classroom.
"She is really just a complete teacher in every aspect you could ask for," Ingram said. "She made sure we respected ourselves and others and I think that is important for young developing students."
