If you run into coach Jimmy Hires this week you might want to congratulation him on his well-deserved induction into the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
That’s coming Saturday up in Dalton.
Hires, whose record of 647-185 includes three state titles at RHHS and more region and state playoff appearances than you can shake a stick at, will join longtime prep football coaches T. McFerrin, Buck Godfrey and Rodney Walker, basketball coach Johnny Farmer and track and cross country coach Lee Gower in this year’s class.
