Grand opening set for new Richmond Hill wastewater-treatment facility

The grand opening and ribbon-cutting of the new Richmond Hill wastewater-treatment facility will be at 9:15 a.m. Monday at 1701 Elbow Swamp Road.

Mayor Harold Fowler and other city officials will host the ceremony, which will also feature special guests U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., and state Rep. Ron Stephens, R-Savannah.

The $24 million plant will raise the city’s capacity to treat wastewater from 1.5 million gallons per day to 3 million, with the ability to expand capacity to 4 million.
