Expect delays on Highway 80 in Blitchton
Work on new bridge expected to slow traffic until 6 p.m. tonight, all day Friday

The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced traffic on Highway 80 from Highway 280 in Blitchton to Sand Hill Road in Effingham County will be one-lane until about 6 p.m. tonight due to work on the new Ogeechee River bridge. Delays of about 10 minutes are expected. 

Work will continue from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday, so more delays are likely and motorists are urged to use an alternate route, according to the DOT.
