The Exchange Club of Richmond Hill will host its 26th annual fishing derby from 8 a.m. to noon on June 4 at the DNR fish hatchery on Highway 144.

The derby is free and open to participants 15 and younger, but anglers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Participants should bring fishing equipment and bait, although a limited amount of poles and bait will be available to borrow. Hotdogs and drinks will be available for youth at no charge courtesy of the Savannah Coca Cola Bottling Co.

Trophies for anglers 12 and under will be presented for several categories, including total pounds (limit 10 fish) and heaviest fish, with age groups 6 and under and 7 to 12. A special prize will also be awarded — a family outing to the Bill Dance Fishing Experience at Waterways Township.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the fishing starts at 8:30 a.m. Forms can be found at http://www.rhxc.org/fishing.htm.
