Richmond Hill isn’t exactly Savannah when it comes to drug problems, a local police officer told Rotary Club members Thursday.

But the city isn’t exactly drug free either, and the biggest issue may be the perception that drug abuse here isn’t an issue, Richmond Hill Police Det. Jack Frost said.

"The lack of people perceiving it to be a problem is (the problem)," said the former member of the Savannah-Chatham Counter Narcotics Team.

He spoke for more than 20 minutes during the club’s meeting at the Richmond Hill City Center about the dangers posed by various drugs, including those prescribed by doctors and then sold or given away, and synthetic drugs.
