As the nation and world look toward the 16th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Richmond Hill and Bryan County will join other communities across the country and across the globe to remember and honor the thousands of innocent men, women and children killed on Sept. 11, 2001.

A commemoration ceremony will be at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 11 at the Memorial Site in J.F. Gregory Park hosted by the Richmond Hill Fire Department.

Bryan County Emergency Services will also host its annual Walk to Remember 343 at 8 a.m. on Sept. 11 at DeVaul Henderson Park. The 343 marks the number of firefighters who died in the 9/11 attacks.
