North Bryan resident Glenn Christian has announced he wants to be the next sheriff of Bryan County.

"I’m doing it because it needs to be done," Christian said. "We need some leadership in Bryan County. All I can do is my very best and everyone that knows me personally knows I’ll be a fine sheriff."

Christian, who is a former Bryan County deputy, is now a licensed private investigator who said he has had more than 24 years experience in law enforcement.

Also active in the community, Christian serves as an executive board member of Bryan County’s Drug Free Coalition and is a coach for the Bryan County 4-H shotgun team. Christian said he is also active on school councils at Bryan County Middle and Bryan County High Schools, where his children attend school.

If elected, Christian said he plans to make it "fun to come to work again." He also plans to "bring together" the Pembroke and Richmond Hill Police Departments.
