It was a big week for preschoolers in Bryan County as two state legislators stopped by classrooms to read in honor of Georgia Pre-K Week.
State Sen. Buddy Carter and “Pete the Cat” returned to Richmond Hill Montessori Preschool on Thursday to an enthusiastic welcome from the students. And Rep. Ron Stephens spent time Monday with students at The Children’s Village at the Crossroad.
Carter, who was joined by Richmond Hill City Council member Van Hunter, visited the school as part of Georgia Pre-K Week, to read the stories of “Pete the Cat” to pre-K students who hung on every word being read — or even sung.
Though he claimed to not sing well, the groups of 4-year-olds singing with him didn’t seem to mind.
