Bryan County News paywall starts today

The Bryan County News will launch a metered paywall effective today.

Until now, all content on bryancountynews.com has been free for everyone. Now, most news, sports and feature stories will be subject to the meter. Also, all archived stories (older than 30 days) and the e-edition will be available only for paid subscribers.

If you are a paid subscriber to the print edition, you will not notice any difference once you set up an account on bryancountynews.com. Paid subscribers may read everything on the website and access the e-edition of the paper as part of their subscription.

To set up an account on the website, click on “Login,” then “Not a user? Register now” underneath “Member Login.” After setting up the account, call the News office at 912-756-2668 and give us the email address that was registered. We will assign the email address to the subscriber’s account, and instant access will be granted. Once this is complete, subscribers may access bryancountynews.com on any device using the username and password associated with their account.

If you are not a paid subscriber, beginning with articles published for this edition, you will not notice any difference at first. But once you read 10 articles that are behind the paywall in a 30-day period, you will be able to read only the first paragraph of the next article you click on, and you will be prompted to either log in or subscribe to read the full story.

Obituaries, videos and anything on community.bryancountynews.com will continue to be free for all website visitors.
