Bryan County recently joined 135 other Georgia counties as a part of the state's Camera Ready Community Program.
At the inaugural Film Day at the Capitol Feb. 29, Bryan County was designated as a Camera Ready county. Chris Sheppard, executive director of the Richmond Hill Convention and Visitors Bureau, serves as the camera ready liaison for Bryan County.
"To be camera ready means we have already done the leg work for people who are interested in filming in our county, and that makes us more interesting to them," Sheppard said.
The designation for Bryan County, she said, is good because of all the historical sites in the area. Places like the Ford Plantation, Fort McAllister, Folly Farms, J.F. Gregory Park and others were included in the list of potential filming sites submitted with Bryan County's application, she said.
