The Bryan County Board of Commissioners voted to hire Eric Greenway as the county’s new planning and zoning director during its meeting Tuesday at the Administrative Complex.
Greenway was most recently the planning and zoning director for Berkeley County near Charleston in South Carolina for about seven years. Before that, he started his career in planning and development services in York County in South Carolina near Charlotte. In about 13 years working in York County, he went from zoning assistant to zoning administrator to planning director.
“Bryan has excellent development now, excellent housing opportunities here,” he said. “Being able to take the county piece and combine it or work with the municipalities here in the county to see what we can do together, I’m excited about it.”
