Work on new home side bleachers at BCHS is on the way.

The Bryan County school board voted Thursday night to spend more than $540,000 on improvements to the stadiums at Bryan County High School and Richmond Hill High School.

Most of the money, $364,141, is going to fund new home side bleachers and a new press box at BCHS. The visiting side bleachers at RHHS will also be replaced. That will cost $177,390.

The vote occurred during the board's regular monthly meeting, which was held at Lanier Primary.


The school board also approved bids of $247,447.72 for furniture for the new McAllister Elementary and Bryan County Elementary; $289,558 for projectors and audio systems for the new schools; and more than $280,000 for various other learnning equipment to outfit the schools, which have been projected to open this fall.
