BoE chooses McAllister as name for new school

Future South Bryan students will learn in a facility named in honor of the area’s rich past after school board members voted Thursday to name the yet-to-be-built elementary school.
There was no discussion of other names during the regular meeting in Black Creek nor mention of them on the Bryan County Board of Education’s printed meeting agenda, but after the vote vice-chairman Joe Pecenka thanked the public for its input and suggestions regarding what will now be known as McAllister Elementary School.
“It’s always great when the public takes advantage of opportunities to give us feedback,” he said. “We appreciate that and we do consider it. It’s not just a formality to us and we hope they continue to provide input.”
