Area legislators to hold meeting on Ogeechee fish kill

State legislators serving Bryan County and other areas along the Ogeechee River will host a public meeting this week with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources on the recent fish kill in the river.

State Representatives Jon Burns, R-Newington, Ann Purcell, R-Rincon, and Jan Tankersley, R-Brooklet, along with state Senators Jack Hill, R-Reidsville, and Jesse Stone, R-Waynesboro, will be on hand at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Effingham County Middle School, 1659 Hwy.119 South, Guyton, to provide information on the recent fish kill on the Ogeechee River. 

Residents of Bryan, Effingham and Screven counties are strongly encouraged to attend this public meeting addressing the numerous fish that died in the Ogeechee River.
