Editor’s note: This is one in a series of surveys answered by candidates in contested races in the July 31 primary.

The District 3 county commission seat is up for grabs this year, and two Republican candidates will face off in the July 31 primary election for the nomination.
Richmond Hill residents Billy Albritton and Steve Myers both seek the District 3 seat. Myers has more than 25 years experience as a business owner and is a political newcomer in Bryan County. Albritton has been involved in Richmond Hill city government for 15 years and also has 40 years of management experience. Both have been active in the community and want to better the county and local communities.
Early voting for the July 31 primary is under way from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday through July 27 at the Bryan County Courthouse in Pembroke and the County Administrative Complex in South Bryan. Polls will also be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 21.

Family: I am married to Sheila Hill Albritton. I have two grown daughters, Joni Cannon and Jennifer Dilas. I have four grandchildren.
Work experience: I am the construction manager/safety coordinator for Industrial Metalworks Inc.(IMI), which is located in Savannah. I have worked for IMI for the past 20 years.
Education background: I graduated from Savannah High School and have taken college courses at Armstrong College. I have received extensive safety training over the years through my job, and have received a safety certification certificate from Georgia Tech.
Civic activities: I am a member of Richmond Hill Lions Club, Relay For Life, Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival Committee and RHBC Chamber of Commerce Executive Board.

Work experience: 25 years as co-owner, The Mortgage Outlet Inc., Marietta, a multi-state mortgage company; co-owner, Woodlawn Building Associates, medical building, Marietta; owner, Sawmill Plaza LLC, Richmond Hill; owner, Sweet Water Wash LLC, Richmond Hill and Savannah; completed military service 1972-1978.
Education background: High school graduate, some college
Civic activities: One of five founders of the Richmond Hill Farmer’s Market; five years active service for Richmond Hill Marine Rescue Squad; active member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church, Richmond Hill; assist many charity organizations by providing commercial smoker for fund raisers, including Masons, Richmond Hill Baptist Church, St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal, Kiwanis Club and Savannah City Missions.
