Three Girl Scouts from Richmond Hill spent over 60 hours designing and building a storage cabinet for Carver Elementary School as part of their Silver Award Project.
Eighth-graders Caroline Black, Natalie Anderton, and Emily Grace Huie of Troop 30665 presented the storage cabinet to Carver Elementary Outdoor Education teacher Kari Wilcher during the school’s “Earth, Arts, and STEM Night” on March 24.
To earn a Silver Award, Girl Scouts must identify a community issue and build a project that “can lead to lasting change,” according to the official webpage.
“My fellow Girl Scouts and I were excited to deliver the storage cabinet to Carver Elementary School today as part of our Silver Award project,” said Black. “Girl Scouts has given us this amazing opportunity to make an impact on the community in a bigger way for which I am so grateful.”
