Lions Club provides vision screening for students
Lions Club vision screenings for studentsd

The Richmond Hill Georgia Lions Club provided vision screenings for Richmond Hill students using the Welch Allyn Screening Instrument.

This instrument automatically captures an image from a noninvasive, 3-foot distance.  This image identifies if there is a need for a more in-depth vision exam which the school nurse communicates to the parent.

On Sept. 9, students at Richmond Hill Primary School were screened.  The group said 295 children were screened, with 18 percent needing referral

Additional screenings are planned for Richmond Hill Elementary and Carver Elementary School..

Efforts are under way to provide this service to other schools.

The Lions Club will also be holding a vision screening at the Senior Center in October.
