PEMBROKE – Drivers on I-16 next week should prepare for delays as the Georgia Department of Transportation prepares for a lane closure in North Bryan.

Contractors will install single-lane closures on westbound I-16 between Highway 280 and Highway 119 (Milepost 139 to Milepost 138). Lane closures will in place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. beginning Saturday, May 19, and ending Thursday, May 24, weather permitting.

A lane closure will also go in from 7 a.m. to noon on Friday, May 25, prior to Memorial Day restrictions.

The $680,000 contract consists of scour countermeasures, deck preservation overlay, joint replacement, crack fixes and spall repairs in the substructures of both east and westbound bridges.

Overall project completion is expected this fall.
