Lane closure on I-95 this week

The left lane will be closed on I-95 southbound in Bryan and Chatham counties this week, Georgia Department of Transportation announced Thursday.
The left southbound lane will be closed from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday between mile marker 96 and mile marker 86, according to the GDOT. 
The department reminded motorists to drive carefully, use extra caution and slow down while travelling in the work zone.

Bryan County Commissioners on Tuesday night deferred a decision on whether to rezone some 3.8 acres near the historic Burnt Church Cemetery to allow a Parker’s Kitchen convenience store. The vote to defer the decision for 30 days to look into concerns raised by opponents to the project came after several residents – including parents of children buried in the 195-year-old cemetery – urged commissioners to deny the rezoning.
