Labor Day event set at Fort McAllister

Fort McAllister State Historic Park will host its annual Labor Day Celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 1 at the Visitor’s Center, 3894 Fort McAllister Road, Richmond Hill.

The 1,725-acre park will hold an educational and fun-filled Labor Day event suitable for the entire family. Living history programs will showcase life as a soldier and civilian during the Civil War.  Re-enactors will demonstrate musket and cannon firings and Civil War-era games.

The cost is $9 per adult, $8 for seniors 62 and over and $5 for children ages 6-17. Children under 5 are admitted free of charge. No parking pass is required with event admission.
