Richmond Hill-based custom photographer Megan Myrick was recently honored by The International Photographic Competition (IPC) for her image of “Sisters on the Beach,” which was selected for inclusion in the IPC’s prestigious Loan Collection.

The IPC is an international competition where photographers of the highest caliber from all over the world compete through two rounds of judging for the honor of winning.

A panel of jurors from across the United States selects top images from thousands of submitted entries each year.

Judged against a standard of excellence comprising 12 elements, the highest scoring images are then selected to be part of PPA's General Collection and its esteemed Loan Collection—the best of the best.

Myrick’s work was judged to be of such high quality that her winning image was accepted into the Loan Collection and will be printed in the Professional Photographers of America’s Showcase Book. 

At the state level, for the second time, Myrick won first place in the Child Portrait Category and also received a Judge's Choice Award, competing against hundreds of entries from talented photographers from all over the state of Georgia.  

Myrick’s work will also be on display at the IPC Exhibit at Imaging USA, which will take place Jan. 19-21 in Atlanta. Winners at the IPC are then eligible for the Grand Imaging Awards, which are also presented each year at Imaging USA.

"I am thrilled that my work has not only won statewide awards but has also been selected for the Loan Collection by IPC and will be part of the Showcase book, which is purchased by photographers from all over the world,” Myrick said. “The fact that my passion for family photography has led to my work being part of collection of images that set the standard for quality in our industry is very exciting."

Myrick specializes in newborn, maternity, baby, child and family photography around the Coastal Georgia area. She strives to provide her clients with a custom portrait experience resulting in heirloom-quality art for families to cherish for years to come.

Myrick’s photographic studio is located at 10384 Ford Ave. in Richmond Hill. A native of Washington state, Myrick and her family moved to Richmond Hill nearly seven years ago due to her husband’s military service.
