Construction progress on the $6.17 million State Route 144 double-roundabout project at I-95 requires traffic shifts Wednesday, April 8, according to a press release from the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).
Contractors will move traffic signals to support a safe pattern change on State Route 144. Drivers will be delayed at the Exit 90 ramp areas, according to GDOT.The main work area runs from Thunderbird Drive to Longwood Drive.
Overall, prime contractor Reeves Construction is working to reconfigure this location by adding two modern roundabouts to better accommodate traffic volumes, reduce backups and increase safety.
Official completion is expected in Spring 2021, GDOT said.
