Hendrix Road closure announced

In order to completely reconstruct the pavement layer, Hendrix Road in Ellabell will be closed completely from Highway 280 for one half mile until early next week, according to a press release from Bryan County government.

All residents, including those on Old Mill Creek Road, will have access to Highway 280 via Wilma Edwards Road during construction.

 This project is a part of the roadway management plan and is funded by state Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) and Bryan County Transportation-SPLOST

It took the Georgia Department of Transportation seven months to finish clearing the massive amounts of debris Hurricane Helene left across a wide swath of the state, an engineer with the agency said Wednesday.
