Good Friends of Bryan County to host third annual fundraising luncheon
Friends of Bryan County to host third annual fundraising luncheon

Good Friends of Bryan County invites the community to its Third Annual Holiday Luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 3, at the Richmond Hill City Center. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon and concludes at 1 p.m.

New this year, community members Paige Glazer and Michele Henderson will share stories from Good Friends’ partner organizations. The program will also include special performances by Victorian Carolers and David Duckworth. Together, guests will raise money to support the missions of Bryan County Family Connection and ELEOS Food Pantry & Clothes Closet, and help Bryan County residents facing temporary financial crises.

“This luncheon shows what is possible when neighbors choose to care for one another,” said Deane Belk, chair of the Good Friends of Bryan County Board of Directors. “Every person who purchases a ticket, shares a story or makes a gift becomes part of a local network of support. Together, we can respond to urgent needs and remind Bryan County families that they do not have to face difficult seasons alone.”

Guests will enjoy a Southern-inspired meal prepared by Magnolia Grill & Catering. Tickets are $45 per person and include both admission and a meal. Tickets are now available at goodfriendsofbryancounty.org.

“The Holiday Luncheon brings people together around a purpose that reaches far beyond a single afternoon,” said April Cameron, general manager of the Richmond Hill City Center. “We are pleased to provide a welcoming place for guests to connect, learn more about local needs and support the organizations working every day to serve Bryan County.”

The luncheon’s centerpieces are also works of art and labors of love. The 2026 Good Friends Pinecone Trees were created with help from almost 150 community members. Seventeen trees remain available to guests with a $195 donation. Two trees are being held for a special auction following the luncheon. Reserved trees will remain with Good Friends through the Dec. 3 luncheon, where they will serve as centerpieces. Purchasers may collect their pinecone trees after the luncheon. The final two trees will be auctioned from 1-6 p.m. on Dec. 3. The highest bidders will receive the trees, and Good Friends will deliver them the following day within Bryan County.

Every dollar generated by the pinecone trees will become part of the funds Good Friends distributes in 2027 to help Bryan County friends and neighbors facing temporary financial crises. To reserve a remaining tree, visit goodfriendsofbryancounty.org and select “2026 Centerpiece Reservation.”

Since its founding in 2024, Good Friends of Bryan County has distributed more than $46,000 to local nonprofit partners. Its initial fundraising efforts provided $11,944 to Bryan County Family Connection and $3,981 to The Way Station Food Pantry. Following the 2025 luncheon, the organization distributed an additional $30,233 in January 2026, including $22,675 to Bryan County Family Connection and $7,558 to The Way Station Food Pantry.

These contributions have helped local organizations address food insecurity and provide essential resources to Bryan County individuals and families experiencing financial hardship. By partnering with established nonprofits serving North and South Bryan County, Good Friends helps bridge gaps in assistance and ensures that donations make a meaningful impact close to home.

Community investors support the administrative and operating functions of Good Friends so that 100% of luncheon donations can meet local needs.
