Good Friends of Bryan County, a non-profit charitable organization based in Richmond Hill, held a check ceremony at Richmond Hill City Center to formally announce their donations to Bryan County Family Connection and The Way Station Food Pantry

Their donations were given out in January this year, totaling $30,233 for both organizations.

Deanne Belk with Good Friends of Bryan County says that the funds for both organizations were raised at their annual luncheon last December.

“Our intention is to make their burden lighter, so that they can focus on their missions,” said Belk.

Belk explained that this year Good Friends wanted to support local organizations battling food insecurity across North and South Bryan.

“A lot of us are one paycheck or emergency away from having stressors in our life due to finances,” said Belk.

Inspired by a similar chapter in North Carolina, Good Friends of Bryan County was founded in 2024 with the goal of supporting local causes. 100% of all donations stay within Bryan County, explained Belk.
