How many Christmas activities can be enjoyed in one day? The City of Pembroke is testing the limits! Join them Saturday, December 8th, as we hold our annual Christmas festival and 35th annual Christmas parade. Rain or shine, the events will go on!

What can be found? To start, the Christmas Market, set up along two blocks of Railroad Street, will showcase 65 vendors. From arts and crafts, handmade gifts, school and church sales to BBQ, Latin cuisine, gourmet coffee, and vegan food choices, you'll find it all at the Market! Did we mention the mechanical bull? Booths open at 2 p.m. and will remain open until 8 p.m.

Also during that time, you can stop in the Pembroke Senior Center on Bacon Street, where open judging of the City's Christmas tree decorating contest will be held. Swing by, tour the ten beautiful trees that were decorated, and cast your vote for your favorite. Voting is from 2-4 and the winners will be announced during the evening parade.

But wait! There's more! Several performance groups will be showcasing their talents on the entertainment stage, next to the Market. There will be singing groups, soloists, and dance troupes. Local musician, Brian Conley, will be performing as well as managing sound on the stage. Performances will run from 2-5 and then again from 7-8.

And then there's the parade!! With over 60 parade entries, including the 3ID Color Guard and Band, Alee Shriners, and the Grand Marshal - the Downtown Development Authority's new mascot, Carter the Conductor - this lighted parade is sure to be a hit!

You would think that was enough, but we're not done yet! At the conclusion of the parade, you can join in the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony from the gazebo on Railroad Street. It will be the perfect ending to the perfect day.

So come out to Historic Downtown Pembroke on Saturday, from 2 PM - 8 PM, and get your fill of holiday cheer!
