Richmond Hill - As part of the bridge maintenance project, L. C. Whitford Co., Inc. will be shifting all three lanes of traffic to the left on I-95 North at Exit 87 interchange bridge over US 17 early morning September 9 as part of the overall project’s maintenance staging plans.
Even though traffic will be maintained during this work, motorists should expect some nighttime travel delays tonight while the contractor is installing the traffic shift.
This shift is scheduled to remain in place for the next three weeks. Overnight traffic shift will be reduced to two lanes from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and possible single lane from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to complete bridge maintenance work that is necessary for the longevity of the bridge’s lifespan.
Motorists are reminded that this is a WORK ZONE and are advised to reduce speed and exercise extreme caution travelling through this area. Message signs, barrels and/or cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes. Drivers should be aware that personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to travel lanes.
