There will be a contested race for the Post 4 seat on Richmond Hill City Council. Marcus Thompson qualified before the deadline Thursday, according to City Clerk Dawnne Greene, who is also the city's elections supervisor. 

Thompson, who ran unsuccessfully against longtime state Rep. Ron Stephens in 2020, will face former Richmond Hill Post 4 councilman and longtime planning and zoning commissioner Les Fussell in the race.
