The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 164 has opened an account at Heritage Bank for the Audrey Tuten, the 72-year-old woman who was allegedly beaten by her son.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the fund can make donations at the Pembroke, Richmond Hill, or any other Heritage branch.

Authorities say Tuten remains in critical condition on Wednesday. Authorities say Tuten had surgery Tuesday to remove some blood clots that had allegedly formed as a result of Monday’s assault, but her condition is unchanged.

Tuten’s son, Clinton Craig Neesmith, remains in Bryan County Jail Wednesday, where he is facing a string of charges, including the alleged assault on his mother.
