Free clothing exchange: Bring what you can, take what you need

By Lizzy Donker, BCN intern.

“Bring what you can, take what you need” is the motto of the free clothing exchange that is happening twice a month in Richmond Hill and Pooler. This exchange consists of not only clothing, but shoes, books, toys, baby formula; everything.

Held every second Saturday of each month at the Jacob Grant Community Center in Richmond Hill and every first Saturday at the YMCA in Pooler, the program has been going for almost three years.

Jessica Nash, who took over the program about six months ago, says it is a great program and isn’t possible without the help of volunteers and the community.

Nash says they have amazing volunteers. She says what they do is put out a call for volunteers, who come and sort it out on the day of the event for people.

You can drop off clothing or items for the exchange at the Jacob Grant Community Center Monday-Friday 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The next event will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 10 at the Grant Community Center. Bring what you can and take what you need!
