Fort McAllister hosts annual Easter egg hunt

Fort McAllister will host its annual Easter egg hunt under the live oak trees on the banks of the Ogeechee River, Saturday, April 20, from 2 to 3 p.m.

There will be separate hunts for ages 3-6, 7-9 and 10-12. This event is limited to the first 300 participants who pre-register.

IMPORTANT: PRE-REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT IN-PERSON IS REQUIRED AT THE PARK OFFICE located at 3894 Fort McAllister Rd. in Richmond Hill. You will receive a wristband at the time of registration. No wristbands will be sold after 5 p.m. on Friday, April 19. Wristbands will not be sold the day of the event. Children must have a wristband to be permitted into the egg hunt area.

Out of town campers can call the park office at 912-727-2339 to register. There are limited spaces reserved. Bring your own basket.

The cost is $2 per participant (friends/family members of the participant will not be charged the $2 fee), plus $5 ParkPass per vehicle.

SAVANNAH – Mayor Tiffany Zeigler of the city of Pembroke has been recognized by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) and the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute as an inaugural member of the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute’s 400 Club during GMA’s Annual Convention held in Savannah on June 23.
