Former RHHS coach under investigation
RHHS Wildcats

Scott Strickland has resigned his teaching position and his position as head baseball coach at Richmond Hill High School after two seasons, and police are investigating a complaint made by RHHS administrators.

Neither the Richmond Hill Police Department nor Bryan County School Superintendent Dr. Paul Brooksher would comment on the matter, saying the investigation is still active.

Strickland has not been charged with a crime.

“Yes, I’ve resigned,” Strickland confirmed in a brief text message when queried by a reporter. “Family is good and I’m in a better place now. Just needed to unplug and refocus my life.” Strickland succeeded Stacy Bennett two seasons ago after spending seven years as Bennett’s pitching coach and top assistant.

Strickland played at RHHS for former coach Mitch Curry and went on to pitch at Augusta State and Armstrong State University..
