Food drive supports local veterans

J.E. Lanier Post 27 of The American Legion will host its Annual Fall Food Drive on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 10 AM to noon at the Shell Station, 201 Kroger Drive, in Richmond Hill.

This community event collects non-perishable food items to benefit veterans served by the Savannah and Hinesville VA Clinics. Over the past two years, generous community donations have helped stock the shelves of both clinics—ensuring that local veterans in need receive the support they deserve.

Residents, businesses, and community organizations are encouraged to participate by donating non-perishable food items, stopping by to meet local veterans, or volunteering during the event. Every contribution, large or small, helps make a difference.

“Our Post is proud to continue this effort in support of our veterans and their families,” said Commander Sally Rejas. “Each year, our community steps up with incredible generosity, and together we’re able to make a meaningful impact.”
