Finished projects on tap for BoE

Two major construction projects for the Bryan County Board of Education are slated for completion next year.
The new Richmond Hill Middle School on Belfast Keller Road in South Bryan is supposed to be finished in time for the 2011-12 school year. And renovation of the Black Creek School on Hwy. 280 into a central administration office is also scheduled for completion next year, according to school board officials.
The new middle school, a $29 million project funded by SPLOST money, is designed to hold 1,500 to 1,600 sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders, said Eddie Warren, school board chairman. It is slated for completion in August.
“So far, it is very close to schedule,” he said.

Pembroke Mayor's Youth Council earns grant from Georgia nonprofit

GeorgiaForward has announced that the 2025 Youth Placemaking Grant has been presented to the City of Pembroke Mayor’s Youth Council. The $500 grant, awarded to the city, will support a youth-led public placemaking project designed to foster creativity, community connection, and civic pride among young residents.
