Family Promise of Bryan County recently received a charitable donation from the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill to go toward the fees and deposit required for their new location to serve families. Rotary Club President Gary Stanberry presented proceeds in the form of a $2,500 check to the Family Promise Board Chairwoman Chris Hasson during the club's regular meeting on Oct. 3.

Hasson expressed gratitude to the members of Rotary Club of Richmond Hill for their support and eagerness for helping homeless families in Bryan County.

"We really appreciate Rotary Club of Richmond Hill's generous contribution to our organization. This past August, we were told the building that we operated out of for several years would no longer be available and that we would need to find a new location to serve families if we wanted to continue our mission of helping homeless families in Bryan County. Thanks to our supporters and kind donors like the Rotary Club, we will be able to secure a new site," Hasson said. "Without community involvement like this, Family Promise would not be able to provide the necessary support for local families in need."

Family Promise of Bryan County works with host congregations to reduce the number of families who are separated when they fall on difficult times and find themselves homeless. The organization recognizes that poverty is a complex problem that requires a multifaceted response. They respond by integrating educational outreach, smart programming, effective policies, and the hands-on work of thousands of volunteers. They provide food, shelter, and support services for homeless families, and advocate for at-risk families to prevent homelessness.
