An Eagle Scout Court of Honor was held Aug. 26 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church for Nickolas Froude of Boy Scout Troop 527, who earned his Eagle Scout on July 25.

Present at the Court of Honor were Froude’s two grandfather – both of whom were Eagle Scouts and passed down their medals to their grandson. Neal Birli of Richmond Hill earned his Eagle Scout in 1958 in Pennsylvania. And Steve Rudesill of Wyoming earned his Eagle Scout in 1954 in California.

Although it takes years of hard work to become an Eagle Scout, Froude credited the support of his family, help from fellow Scouts and years of leadership from his troop, especially Scout Master Matthew Brown, with helping him reach his goal.

Froude is the son of Barbara and Dr. Paul Froude of Richmond Hill. He is a junior at Benedictine Military School in Savannah, where he is active in student government, JROTC and sports and was just inducted into National Honor Society.
