The Department of Defense announced Wednesday the death of a Soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
SGT William J. Beardsley, 25, of Coon Rapids, Minn. died Feb. 26 in Diwaniyah, Iraq, of injuries sustained when a bomb exploded near his vehicle.
He was assigned to the 260th Quartermaster Battalion, 3rd Sustainment Troop Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division. A petroleum supply specialist, Beardsley entered the Army in December 2002. He arrived at Fort Stewart in January 2006.
