DoD announces death of 3rd ID soldier

The Department of Defense announced Thursday the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.


Pfc. Christian M. Neff, 19, of Lima, Ohio, died Sept. 19 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device, according to Fort Stewart PAO. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team.

An armor crewman, Neff joined the Army in June 2006. He arrived at Fort Stewart in October, 2006.
