Andrew Niquette, a local activist and former campaign manager for candidates, has announced his 2020 bid for Georgia’s 164th District House seat, which includes Richmond Hill, Pooler, Savannah and Fort Stewart.

The seat is currently held by Ron Stephens.

Niquette is no stranger to local politics. He has been a congressional and state house campaign manager the past two years, a National Delegate to the 2016 Democratic National Convention, and a staffer with the Democratic National Committee.

He also serves as a Division Staff Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary along with his husband Rory. If elected, Niquette will make history as the youngest state representative in Georgia history, and one of the youngest LGBT elected officials in the nation.
