Bryan County Commissioners will appoint a successor to fill the unexpired term of District 4 Commissioner Brad Brookshire on Monday in a called meeting.

Brookshire, who is moving outside his district, stepped down at the end of the Aug. 10 county commission meeting.

Under county ordinances, when a seat becomes vacant commissioners can appoint a replacement to serve out the remainder of the term. Brookshire’s term ends in December 2022.

The meeting is set for 5 p.m. Monday and will be at the South Bryan Administrative Complex in Richmond Hill.
