A Marne Independence Day event Friday on Fort Stewart kicks off the July 4 holiday weekend locally, but it’s far from the only event on the schedule.

Here’s a look at some of the events on offer, starting with Friday’s Marne Independence Day Celebration with Trace Adkins and Dru Hill. Held on Donovan Field on Fort Stewart, the free event opens at 4:30 pm. with food, vendors and more. The Dru Hill concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Adkins peforms at 9 p.m. and the fireworks get under way at 10:30 p.m.

The celebration is open to the public and those without on-post access can use Gate 3 on Old Sunbury Road beginning at 4 p.m.
