Richmond Hill Community Theater company member Kelly Loomis has been awarded the Star Volunteer Trophy.

Chair Kristin Martin presented the award to Loomis at its April 15 annual meeting at the chamber of commerce.

Theater company leaders said Loomis did "an amazing job directing three very successful plays to include the Magician's Nephew, Boo! Thirteen Scenes from Halloween, and Dear Mrs. Claus (and) produced the wonderful Summer Camp Show A Year with Frog and Toad."

Loomis taught the "Directors Training Course" which graduated eight new directors. She also organized the "Scare Away Hunger Food Drive" which collected several hundred food items for the Way Station Food Pantry. In addition, Loomis was "a vital component to RHCT's success this year."
