Bryan County Commissioners will request the General Assembly vote to allow the commission to hold regular meetings in Pembroke and Richmond Hill.

"We have long discussed having two meetings a month," said Bryan County Commission Chairman Jimmy Burnsed on Tuesday.

Commissioners Blondine Newman, Toby Roberts, Joe Kendrick and Burnsed approved a request asking the state to amend the law regarding when and where the commission meets. Commissioners Rick Gardner and Glen Willard were absent from the regular meeting.

The county is currently building a new administrative complex in south Bryan County. Under the current law, commissioners can only vote in Pembroke, the county seat.
