The more the merrier.
That could be Bryan County 4-H agent Shanna Davis’ motto for the 26th Annual Pembroke Christmas Parade and Festival.
"This is the highlight of our year," she said. "The Pembroke Christmas Parade is Bryan County 4-H’s sole fund-raising event. We would love to see queens, dignitaries, businesses, schools, organizations, churches, and others from all over the county participate in the parade."
The parade and festival have grown over the years, said Mayor Judy Cook.
"Each year it just gets bigger and better," she said. "It’s just amazing the turnout we do have. And it’s family oriented, so there’s something for everybody to do."
If that isn’t enough to motivate you to head out to North Bryan, Davis said Pembroke’s parade has a few financial incentives as well.
"We award nice cash prizes for float winners," she said. "So if you already have an entry in Richmond Hill’s Christmas Parade this weekend, preserve it and come ride in downtown Pembroke next weekend."
The festival gets under way Dec. 12 at 9 a.m. with arts, crafts, food, entertainment and more. There are games and contests for kids and adults.
