The city of Richmond Hill reported a minor sewage spill Tuesday morning near the Travel America on Hwy. 17 near I-95, according to a press release issued Wednesday.
The release states that about 400 gallons of sewage spilled from a manhole in front of the truck stop into a nearby roadside drainage ditch. The spill was caused by a blockage in the main sewer line, and the ditch was treated with lime to neutralize the spill.
The affected area was cleaned to eliminate any debris and lime, according to the press release.
